# Cloudflare

Whenever I register a domain name, the first thing I do is change the name servers to Cloudflare. Because I use Cloudflare DNS on my devices, any change I make will be immediately testable.

Some of the great features of using Cloudflare (even the free plan):

* DNS management and fast/secure servers
* Global Content Delivery Network (CDN) caching
* URL PageRules
* WebWorkers
* Basic Analytics
* IPv4 (client) -> IPv6 (server) reverse-proxying
* Origin server address privacy
* DDoS protection

{% embed url="<https://cloudflare.com>" %}

[Netlify](https://blog.keithkim.org/third-party-services/deployment-and-monitoring/netlify) also provides DNS and CDN services so you can pick and choose when to use which per site.
